“The Science of Calm: Voice Tools for You and Your Students”

Friday – January 16, 2026 at 3:00 PM

Stress is a normal part of life, but when it lingers in the body and voice, it can disrupt expression, connection, and performance in the music classroom. Prolonged stress limits vocal freedom, affects communication, and makes it harder for students to collaborate and thrive.

This session bridges basic voice science and nervous system awareness to help music educators create more regulated, connected, and expressive rehearsal spaces. Attendees will explore the “Stress Bucket” model, learn how chronic stress impacts vocal tone, breath, and classroom dynamics, and discover practical ways to relieve stress in 90 seconds or less.

Through science-informed voice and breath exercises, Natasha’s signature vocal toning practice, participants will experience how the voice itself can become a tool for calm, connection, and healing. These exercises are accessible, time-efficient, and immediately usable in any rehearsal setting. Educators will leave with tools to reduce stress, foster emotional safety, and support a more empowered and expressive ensemble.
