Music educators play a vital role in shaping the future of arts education at their school sites, within their districts, and across local, regional, and statewide communities. In this session, join The California Arts Project to explore the essential stages of the strategic planning process, key considerations for assessing a district’s arts education program, and effective approaches for engaging educators and community members in charting the course for music education and arts education across all disciplines.
This dynamic session offers an overview of the strategic planning process, arts education program evaluation, and the phases of an arts education improvement plan, as outlined in the California Arts Education Framework. Participants will deepen their understanding of strategic arts education planning, reflect on the current state and future aspirations of their own school and district, and examine how music educators can lead, contribute to, and advocate for comprehensive strategic arts education planning in their own contexts.
