This clinician will introduce mindful self-compassion as a tool for teacher wellbeing, emphasizing practical exercises and ways to incorporate it into their teaching lives. He will define self-compassion using research-backed paradigms, clarifying its relationship with mindfulness, and lead a mindful self-compassion exercise demonstration. Additionally, attendees will be guided in designing personalized self-compassion exercises tailored to their professional lives.

Dr. Zack Clark is a Instructor of Music Education at DePauw University and an Adjunct Lecturer in Music (Music Education) at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. Originally from California, Zack is a veteran educator with 9 years of classroom experience teaching band, jazz band, choir, and musicals at the middle-school and high-school level. During this time, he specialized in incorporating Mindfulness principles into his classroom. He previously earned degrees in music education from California State University, Bakersfield (B.A.) and San Jose State University (M.A.) and is certified in Mindfulness-Based Wellness and Pedagogy. He has since presented research, conference sessions, and workshops on Mindfulness in Music Education in numerous states across the country.
