Michelle Ewer

Michelle Ewer is a semi-retired music educator with over 40 years of experience in
Colorado, teaching both band and orchestra. Throughout her career, she had multiple groups selected to perform at the Colorado Music Educators Association (CMEA) Conference. Her Jazz Strings performed at numerous jazz festivals receiving superior ratings. She continues to teach part-time, coaching and staying involved with music educators across the state daily.
Michelle is currently on staff at the University of Colorado at Boulder as a Music
Lecturer – Student Teacher Support. She manages student teacher placement, conducts the seminar class, and manages the student teaching process. She continues to be in contact with many of the graduates who have entered the education field.
Ms. Ewer is the current Colorado Chapter President for Tri-M Music Honor Society, including planning the annual Tri-M Day Convention in Colorado Springs. She serves as an adjudicator for Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSAA), as well as Music in the Parks. She has been a guest conductor and adjudicator for multiple orchestra festivals across the state and Rocky Mountain region.
Michelle is a past president of the Colorado Music Educators Association (CMEA), Colorado American String Teachers Association, and was inducted into the CMEA Hall of Fame in 2014. She is currently on staff with the Front Range Youth Symphony conducting the Academy Strings Orchestra in Arvada, Colorado.
