Jamie Jun is an elementary music specialist who has been teaching general music and band for the past ten years. She is currently working at Sierra Oaks K-8 School for San Juan Unified School District in Sacramento, CA. Jamie strives to create a safe and playful environment to facilitate musical excellence in her students through the frameworks of culturally responsive teaching and social justice pedagogy. As a life-long learner, she continues to study teaching approaches such as Education Through Music with the Richard’s Institute of Education and Research and has earned Level III Certification in Orff-Schulwerk. She is also pursuing her Master’s in Music Education at San Jose State University while serving as Past President of the American River Orff-Schulwerk Association.
