Is there joy in rehearsing? This clinic will explore a rehearsal process that develops musical skills, ensemble ownership, and independent artistry, for directors of ensembles at all age & skill levels. The clinician will present strategies for identifying, diagnosing, and correcting issues through verbal and non-verbal feedback; using guided questioning to engage the ensemble; using score study and rehearsal planning to anticipate and elevate; and developing the whole musician in the rehearsal. In this clinic for ensemble directors of all skill levels, participants will leave with practical tools to help their students connect more deeply with the music, with each other, and with the rehearsal process itself - making room for joy.
