#POST: Using Social Media for Student Engagement and Professional Growth in Music Education

Thursday – January 15, 2026 at 3:00 PM

This interactive clinic explores how music educators can responsibly and creatively utilize social media to enrich instruction, engage families, showcase student work, and advance their professional growth. Platforms like Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube can serve as practical tools for advocacy, student expression, and program visibility when used intentionally and with clear boundaries.

Attendees will leave with concrete strategies for using social media in and out of the classroom, including content ideas, collaboration techniques, and safety considerations. A hands-on component will enable participants to create posts, reels, or collaborative content on the spot. We'll also highlight how social media can support professional development through networking and reflection.

Whether you're a beginner or ready to enter your "influencer era," this clinic equips you with the tools to post with purpose, stay safe, and elevate your music program online.
