In its fourth year, the CBDA Social Impact Consortium will be debuting a world premieres with the California All-State Bands by composer Giovanni Santos (La Sierra University). Join the composer along with CBDA DEIA rep, Kaitlin Bove for a conversation about the new work, Santos' compositional process, the Social Impact companion curriculum, as well as other topics related to this annual commissioning project.
Session attendees will have a chance to interact with the composer, learn ways to further impact their communities through concert programming and related activities, and engage in an open forum-style discussion.
La Última Llamada (The Last Call) is a Grade 3 piece, focused on the passing of the composer's mother, but also connected to hers and our own migration stories.
