William Hopkins Middle School is located in Fremont, California. The music department offers three string orchestras, three bands and a chorus. The student population is about 1500, with 350 enrolled in music. In addition to our active music community Hopkins has had national success in Science Bowl, hosts both the Madarin and Spanish immersion programs for our district and is consistently ranked in the top 10 California middle schools.
The string program at Hopkins was established in 2005 and remains the only middle school string program in Fremont Unified School district. The Advanced Orchestra has performed at CASMEC (2012) and at the National Orchestra Festival (2019). The ensemble has recieved Unanimous Superiors at the local CMEA festival every year since 2008.
