Henry M. Gunn High School Chamber Orchestra

The Gunn High School Orchestras have performed at national, state, and local conferences including the Midwest Clinic (2022, 2013), Orchestra Cup (2024 Grand Champions), the American String Teachers Association National Orchestra Festival, the California All-State Music Education Conference, and the CMEA Bay Section Conference.

The program provides students with musical travel opportunities, with recent tours including Hawaii, Atlanta, Chicago, New York, and Southern California. Gunn Orchestras consistently earn Unanimous Superior ratings at CMEA festivals and partner with organizations such as the Klein Competition, Sphinx Virtuosi, and professional chamber ensembles to bring guest artists into the classroom.

Gunn Orchestra values social growth, teamwork, chamber music, and repertoire diversity. Every student participates in a chamber ensemble, developing leadership and collaboration skills while fostering lifelong appreciation for music and artistic excellence.
