The clinician will discuss the challenges and advantages that come along with being the only music teacher on a small campus. The clinician will provide real examples regarding what classes can be offered in a small school setting, how high quality repertoire can still be performed in an imperfectly balanced ensemble, and how to keep a small class engaged day to day. The importance of music technology to encourage practicing and efficient communication with parents and families will be emphasized as the clinician offers insights into how these tools can create a valued music program on your campus. Small classes can be fun and sometimes daunting, but a few quick tricks up your sleeves can make the experience more worthwhile for everyone.
