4th Grade Music Demonstration Lesson (and debrief)

Friday – January 15, 2027 at 10:00 AM | B9

In this session, both seasoned and new Elementary Music Educators will observe Kodaly activities in action. The clinician will bring a class of 4th grade students to run a demonstration lesson showing engaging songs and games, transitions that meet concept goals, energetic pacing, and recorder instruction. The fourth graders have had consistent and sequential music instruction since kindergarten once a week in a public school setting. This will not be a “practiced” lesson beforehand - but a snapshot of a lesson the clinician would plan and implement during the year- so students will not be performing, but showcasing a normal music lesson, and attendees will also see classroom management strategies in action. Attendees will then have a chance to ask questions and play a music game with the students.
