Remixing & AI Stems: Teach Through Music Students Love

Saturday – January 16, 2027 at 11:00 AM | A9

Many students connect more deeply when they can learn through music they already know and love. Remixing gives teachers a practical way to turn that interest into meaningful music learning.

In this hands-on session, teachers will learn how to use remixing and AI stem separation to teach core music production skills, including drums, chords, bass, melody, song structure, and arrangement. Using accessible web-based tools that work on laptops, Chromebooks, and iPads, attendees will explore classroom remix workflows that support student choice, creativity, and belonging. Teachers will also learn how to use separated stems to help students listen more closely, understand how songs are built, and create new musical ideas from familiar material.

No music tech experience is required.
