Pacific Standard Time, directed by Christine Guter, is the top vocal jazz ensemble at Cal State Long Beach. They have performed at the most prestigious educational events in the U.S. including JEN & IAJE Conferences, Regional and National ACDA Conferences, and numerous California state conferences and festivals. They have also appeared at the Playboy Jazz Festival, the Los Angeles Jazz Festival, the Newport Beach Jazz Party, the West Coast Jazz Party, and the Monterey Jazz Festival.
Pacific Standard Time has been honored with DownBeat Magazine Student Music Awards for the past SEVENTEEN years in a row (2010-2026). Students from PST have also received multiple DownBeat Awards in the categories of Solo Jazz Vocalist, Pop/Rock Soloist, Latin Group, and Vocal Jazz Arrangement.
Graduates have been featured on “The Voice”, “The Sing-Off”, National Harmony Sweepstakes, TV commercials, movie soundtracks, and major artist tours (Jennifer Lopez, Chaka Khan, The Jacksons, Michael Bublé, M-Pact).
