The Business of Being a Band Director 2.0

Saturday – January 16, 2027 – 2:00 PM | B1

Panel discussion focusing on the logistics and business aspects of running a
band program, i.e. the things outside of teaching the craft of music such as:
o Financial Planning
o Recruiting
o Booster Organizations
o Equipment and Gear Planning/Organization
o Staffing / HR
o Transportation
o Working with Admins/ Athletics/ Custodial Staff
o Open Discussion

Target Audience

This is aimed at newer folks in the profession 1-5 years, but certainly applicable to anyone at any point in their career. Knowing that if folks can weather the first few years (and be more prepared in these topics specifically), then they could stay in teaching for much longer.
