Carl H. Sundahl Elementary School Choir is a developing elementary vocal ensemble from the Folsom Cordova Unified School District under the direction of Julianne Nguyen. The ensemble began as a 4th grade general music class and has continued together into 5th grade choir, allowing students to grow through a two-year collaborative musical experience. Throughout this journey, students have developed foundational vocal technique, music literacy, ensemble skills, movement integration, and creative musicianship.
The choir’s repertoire reflects a variety of musical styles and incorporates choreography, percussion, movement, and opportunities for student creativity. Looking ahead, the ensemble plans to create and perform an original student composition as a culminating project that celebrates their two years together. The piece will be collaboratively written by the students and orchestrated by the director using classroom instruments and percussion.
